Shuto Con - “It's all about U!”

...and it IS all about you! Shuto Con is Lansing's Annual Anime Convention, coming to the Lansing Center April 5th-7th, 2013. This convention will be a three day event held in Lansing, MI that focuses on Artists and the art of Interactive Cosplaying!

Starting Friday morning at the Lansing Center and Radisson Hotel Lansing our convention will run from 9AM until 6PM Sunday afternoon. We plan on having three rooms for panels, over 40 unique artists, several dealers to get your latest anime swag from, three anime and two video game viewing rooms open during the entire convention, a table top gaming room, special guests, and much more!

Shuto Con also hopes to give you a truly unique experience by participating in our “Interactive Cosplay” experience. We highly encourage ALL our attendees to dress up as their favorite characters and act like them during the convention. A mock battle arena will be staged where you can “fight” it out with other cosplayers, or even take “bets” on who will win! Special points will be given out to those that participate the most, and at Closing Ceremonies on Sunday afternoon we will announce the Shuto Con “King and Queen of Cosplayers”! If you do not wish to participate, but would still like to capture those fond memories, we ask that your bring your cameras and/or video recorders and witness a viral hit in the making! May 1st, 2012 - Pre-registration is now open and I am happy to announce our first two guests! Returning for a second and third year of AWESOMENESS is Greg Ayres and Doug Smith!

April 14th, 2012 - The website has been updated with 2013 information!

April 2nd, 2012- I have decided to open up our Pre-Registration for 2013 on May 1st, and I am delighted to announce that badge prices for this year will be the same as last year (all thanks to our wonderful attendees)! VIP Badges sales may be available on this date, but I am not yet able to confirm that since we are still working on securing our opening round of guests. Please tell your friends and pass on our Facebook page, because as always, I occasionally offer great "secret" discounts on badges throughout the year!

March 23rd, 2012- Our total attendance of both pre-registration and at-door badges is 2475 attendees! This number includes ALL badge types, including children's badges, over the entire weekend. Thank you again! We are all going to take a small break to recover from our 2012 show, but registration should be back up at the end of April for our 2013 convention. Regarding fundraising for the Lansing Food Bank, Brian Caswell raised $370 during his Date Auction panel, and we will be matching that number totalling $740 raised! We also gathered 153 pounds of food over the weekend! Great job everyone!

March 19th, 2012 - WOW what an amazing show! We are still tallying up our totals, but I know we exceeded over 2000 attendees! Our next dates have been announced, April 5th - 7th, 2013 as well as our 2014 con, April 4th -6th, 2014.
