The story features Yuuta Togashi, a junior high school student suffering from Chuunibyou, a phase where teenagers have delusions of grandeur.

We see teenagers here convince themselves they have secret powers or knowledge. In this phase, Yuuta refers to himself as the Dark Flame Master and distances himself from classmates.

After a move, he attempts to start a new school free from his past and old delusions. But there is a classmate, Rikka Tasanshi who is still in her Chuunibyou phase. She finds out about Yuuta’s past and develops an interest in him, dragging him back to his past.

This funny comedy is one where we learn more about their teenagers and wonder if Yuuta will ever be free of Chuunibyou.
