10 Best Male Anime Characters With White Hair

Do you have an odd attraction to male anime characters with white hair? It’s not surprising. White hair in the real world is usually a sign of aging, and is usually a dull color that most people are desperate to get rid of. But in the anime world it’s a hugely significant color.

In particular, male anime characters with white hair are usually seen as compelling, enigmatic and entertaining. The 10 listed below are all highly unique and play a key role in their respective anime (all of which you should give a watch!).

Without further ado, let’s get to the 10 best white-haired male anime characters.

Male Anime Characters With White Hair

10. Juuzou Suzuya (Tokyo Ghoul)

First up on our list is Juuzou Suzuya. He is currently a special class ghoul investigator and through his androdynous appearance many fans were deceived into thinking he was a female character.

His pale complexion and child-like appearance may fool you into thinking he’s innocent but he’s definitely the opposite.

Due to his rough childhood, Juuzou has a lack of emotional understanding and empathy so he tends to confront his opponents head on.

With time he became an extremely powerful character within the story and served as a perfect anti-hero. But still, if you’re a ghoul you definitely don’t want to be on his bad side!

9. Kaneki Ken (Tokyo Ghoul)

Kaneki serves as the main protagonist of Tokyo Ghoul. He used to have black hair but after being tortured and becoming a one-eyed ghoul, the intense stress of it started to turn his hair white.

He becomes a half-ghoul half-human all because he tried to approach a girl and ended up being eaten by her (poor Kaneki, as you can probably tell she was unsuccessful.)

He’s a fan favorite as you embark on a journey with him as he transforms from a shy kid to a top ghoul investigator, despite him bearing hatred for ghouls his entire life.

8. Kakashi Hatake (Naruto)

Kakashi is believed to be one of Konosha’s most talented ninja, and rightfully so, he’s very skilled and intuitive.

His childhood trauma followed him throughout his life giving him a cold and aloof demeanor toward other people, except for Naruto.

He has always treated Naruto like his son because he understands the trauma he went through, and many fans believe Kakashi is the reason Naruto never became evil and always stayed on the right path.

7. Zero Kiryu (Vampire Knight)

Next up is Zero, a tall, young vampire hunter who also doubles as a vampire, yes you heard that right!

He develops disgust toward himself once he becomes a vampire due to his inability to control his hunger and the reliance he has on Yuki (the main protagonist and partner of Zero).

Zero is hostile and cold-hearted towards other students and generally does not show much emotion but he is an apt vampire hunter and can easily distinguish between pure-blooded vampires and those who have been turned into one.

But when it is revealed that Yuki (the main protagonist and partner of Zero) is a pure-blooded vampire, he becomes distant from everyone and turns into a loner.

6. Zen Wistaria (Snow White with the Red Hair)

Zen is an easy-going, compassionate and gentle character, did we mention he’s a prince too? With his royal status he cares for all his servants and aides and regards them as his friends.

He’s not had it all perfect though, he’s been targeted for an assisination attempt and used as leverage against his brother, yet he still remains humble and warm-hearted.

Of course someone this perfect would only exist in an anime.

5. Soushi Miketsukami (Inu x Boku SS)

Soushi is the main hero of the titled anime and is a nine-tailed spirit fox, who is of mixed blood and is regarded as the most powerful of the SS.

When we first meet him, he has no sense of identity and no feelings, but throughout the series he develops a gentle, calm and loving personality.

Don’t let his innocent demeanor fool you,  as he is depicted to be quite possessive toward the main protagonist of the story he will always try to protect her above his own life and blindly obeys her like a “dog”.

4. Tomoe (Kamisama Hajimemashita)

Another kitsune on this list.

Tomoe looks to be a handsome and young man in his late teens or early twenties, but he’s actually several hundred years old (could’ve fooled us!).

He tends to be quite cunning and sly much like the fox he is and is seemingly unaware of his own attractiveness but knows how to use it to his own advantage when the opportunity arises.

Tomoe is extremely powerful and is almost elevated to nearly a god himself, he’s capable of using kitsunebi, or fox-fire along with enchanted leaves to control or transform others.

He’s definitely a source of terror to other yokai, and other gods are typically jealous of him.

3. Killua Zoldyck (Hunter x Hunter)

Speaking of powerful characters, up next is Killua. He was raised in a family of assassins, so naturally it was his birth right to be brought up as a child assassin and efficiently murder people (what a family business to be born into!).

Despite being a child, he is one of the quickest thinking characters and can analyze a situation with ease and in the face of all his childhood trauma (being raised as a child assassin and all) he remains generally positive and isn’t too physiologically affected by the pain he has endured.

He is the best friend of the main protagonist ‘Gon’ and shares a similar personality with him.

2. Allen Walker (D-Gray Man)

Allen serves as the main protagonist of D-Gray Man. He is a teenager of average height with a lean, muscular physique and over time has developed a number of scars most notably a very strange one on the left side of his face.

He is a former exorcist and a former member of the European Branch, he was also a previous apprentice of Cross Marian.

Despite his rough childhood, Allen remains charming and warm-hearted and would sacrifice anything for the greater good.

He is also immensely powerful and has a unique ability which allows him to destroy demons with his left arm, though he usually will keep his arm covered to stop people from seeing it.

1. Accelerator (Toaru Kagaku No Railgun, Toaru Majustu No Index, Toaru Kagaku No Accelerator)

Of course, number one goes to none other than Accelerator!

He’s introduced to us as an antagonist and is a perfect villain who has killed thousands and has an unusual quirk that when he becomes enraged or excited (for example, when he’s fighting a strong opponent) he breaks into a wide grin and laughs giving him a sadistic and maniacal appearance.

Later on in this story he turns into an anti-hero who works for the greater good and always has good intentions to ensure people are safe, though he won’t hesitate to kill if it’s for the good.

He is a pale, skinny boy with white moppy hair which is caused by his ability to block ultraviolet rays, thereby preventing his body from producing melanin.

Accelerator is extremely intelligent and to this day nearly impossible to defeat, and certainly one of the best male anime characters with white hair!
